Stop Hunger One Community at a Time is a result of Lisa's commitment to giving back to the community. It takes a village to raise a child and a community to make it work. She wanted to teach her son about giving back at an early age. Surrounding your children in the spirit of giving and teaching them that they can make a difference in their local community by helping, was a valuable, life-long lesson. It started with groups, organizations and businesses (Durham Striders Track Team) connecting with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC assisting with getting food to serve the kids in the program and feed the families of her son's track team.
During her Zaxby's career as a Marketing Director, she successfully facilitated ways of giving back and building relationships and partnerships in the community. She also built relationships with schools, civic and service organizations, churches, etc. providing opportunities to earn service hours by volunteering both with Mobile Food Bank and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC. Consciously knowing that you can't have an "I" in Team but have an "E" for Effort from everyone.
This initiative had grown from feeding over 18,000 families in 2019 with over 1000602 pounds of food to in 2020 feeding over 86,000 families since March 21st. God sent her a team to help assist with the effort of Stop Hunger One Community at a Time which has spread over 15 counties with over 527,000 pounds of food. Stop Hunger is considered a model mobile food bank for The Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
Stop Hunger One Community at a Time would like thank the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC for allowing us to be one of their Hunger Heroes and partners to assist them with reaching areas throughout the 34 counties that they service. We encourage you to support FBCENC in their efforts by volunteering at your local branch. We are all in this together.
During the months which has crippled society both mentally and financially, you stepped up to help lift spirits, helped support people during the crises they faced . By providing food, flowers, toiletry, meal pack for youth, items to households, the homeless, hospitals, children homes, veterans, women center, Boys & Girls Club and more.
